El nuevo bono navideño comenzará a ser distribuido a partir de este viernes y, a lo largo de diciembre, llegará a más de un millón de dominicanos a través de una tarjeta Mastercard equipada con las últimas y más punteras tecnologías de seguridad.
El subsidio sustituye a las cajas navideñas que se entregaban tradicionalmente, permitiendo a los beneficiarios del programa elegir de qué forma quieren realizar sus gastos.
El bono podrá ser utilizado en más de 7,000 comercios de toda la República Dominicana, incluyendo colmados, tiendas de alimentación y cadenas de grandes superficies.
Las tarjetas serán de la modalidad «prepago», tendrán un importe fijo de 1,500 pesos previamente cargado en ellas y no permitirán al usuario sobrepasar ese límite.
Tampoco se podrán recargar, ni asumir con ellas una deuda o un pago a crédito, ya que no estarán vinculadas a una cuenta bancaria, lo que es una garantía de seguridad para el beneficiario.
SEGURIDAD PUNTERA
El bono solo se podrá usar en compras presenciales y no permitirá las transacciones por internet, lo que hace a la tarjeta «más segura», explicó a Efe el gerente general de Mastercard República Dominicana, Gabriel Pascual.
La tarjeta está equipada con «la última tecnología disponible» en medios de pago y permite efectuar las compras a través del chip que tiene incorporado o a través de un sistema de pago «sin contacto», con el que la transacción se hace de forma rápida e higiénica, con tan solo acercar el plástico al «verifone», sin necesidad de tocar el terminal de venta.
«Además de usar el chip, fuimos más allá, fuimos al ‘sin contacto’. Estamos en medio de una pandemia, la gente quiere tocar menos equipos», subrayó Pascual.
El sistema «sin contacto» demanda que la tarjeta esté presente en el momento del pago, a una distancia no superior de dos centímetros del «verifone», y requiere que el terminal se haya activado previamente con la orden de pago correspondiente, lo que evita cualquier tipo de posibilidad de pago indeseado.
El tarjetahabiente tampoco necesitará tocar el teclado para escribir un pin, ya que la tecnología incluida en el chip tiene llaves de seguridad encriptadas que permiten identificar la autenticidad de la tarjeta y de los datos del usuario asociado a ella.
