Santo Domingo. –El ex director del Servicio Nacional de Salud (SNS), doctor Ramón Alvarado, aseguró que esta segunda ola de contagios del coronavirus en la República Dominicana es producto de que las medidas de control de las autoridades de salud han sido tomadas tarde, agravado por un comportamiento inadecuado de una gran parte de la población en los días de Navidad y Año Nuevo.
“Como sabemos que el período de incubación del virus generalmente toma varios días, debemos estar preparados para el impacto del aumento de casos se produzca en las dos primeras semanas de enero, por lo que entiendo atinadas las últimas medidas impuestas por el gobierno, aunque tarde”, afirmó el ex funcionario, al tiempo que exhortó a los ciudadanos a acatarlas y reforzar los cuidados de higiene, además del tratamiento y aislamiento oportuno de quienes resulten positivos para evitar una mayor propagación de este peligroso virus.
Al ser abordado por los comunicadores Nelson y RobertoGómez en el programa “Los Defensores”, que se difunde cada sábado de 4 a 5 de la tarde por el Canal del Sol (6), manifestó que la situación podría ser menos complicada y difícil para las autoridades si dejan de centralizarlo todo y se logra una integración de todos los sectores sociales por provincias en consejos de salud que enfrenten la pandemia tomando en cuenta las características de cada territorio, con la educación, integración y participación de todos los ciudadanos.
Alvarado dijo que una de las debilidades del sistema es “el fracaso de los Centros de Atención Primaria, los cuales pudieron ser el primer frente de batalla contra esta amenaza”, pero que por razones muy complejas en nuestro país no se ha podido implementar en la dimensión y calidad como han sido concebidos.
En otro sentido, Alvarado, quien también es el también Secretario de Salud de la Fuerza del Pueblo, manifestó que la posición del partido que dirige el expresidente Leonel Fernández ha sido “poner todo su equipo técnico a disposición de las autoridades de salud en colaboración para mejorar la salud del pueblo dominicano”.
Sobre la situación política en estos momentos, dijo que “la Fuerza del Pueblo se ha colocado como el principal partido de oposición, contrario a los que fueron sacados del poder, que están dando muy malas señales de falta de democracia e imposiciones internas, como un pésimo ejemplo a las nuevas generaciones, en detrimento del sistema de partidos de la República Dominicana”.
En ese mismo sentido, pronosticó que al terminar el próximo mes de febrero el “Primer Congreso del Pueblo Profesor Juan Bosch”, su partido quedará constituido como una organización democrática, moderna y abierta, destacando que han logrado una participación y aportes de ideas directas en 17 mesas temáticasde 13,967 miembros y militantes mediante “un sistema de plataformas digitales que les han permitido llevar un proceso interactivo para constituir una nueva organización modelo a nivel mundial”.
