En el momento en que la vacuna contra el COVID-19 llegue a la República Dominicana, el presidente Luis Abinader será el primero en aplicársela, según informó la vocera de la Presidencia, Milagros Germán.
A través de su cuenta de Twitter, Germán manifestó que de esa manera se enviará un mensaje de confianza a la población sobre el proceso sanitario y la efectividad de todas las vacunas.
Horas antes, durante una rueda de prensa, en la que también participó Germán, Mario Lama, director del Servicio Nacional de Salud (SNS), indicó que tanto el mandatario como la vicepresidenta Raquel Peña están al tanto de las todas las vacunas aprobadas por los organismos científicos para que el país tenga acceso a ellas.
Ese día, el presidente expresó que la vacuna se aplicará a la población de más en riesgo y que su madre será de las primeras en tenerla.
Esa cantidad de vacunas tendrá un costo de US$40 millones, darán para cinco millones de personas (dos dosis por personas) y están destinadas para llegar en marzo de este año.
